0StartArrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport. Transfer to hotel in Arusha for briefing and gear check.
1Drive to Rongai Gate near the Kenyan border (about 3-4 hours). Trek through rain forest . The northern approach offers a different perspective of Kilimanjaro.
2Continue through moorland with views of Mawenzi Peak. The trail is gentle and allows excellent acclimatization.
3Ascend to Mawenzi Tarn, a beautiful alpine lake at the base of Mawenzi Peak. Afternoon acclimatization hike towards the peak.
4Cross the lunar landscape of the Saddle between Mawenzi and Kibo. Arrive at Kibo Hut and prepare for summit night.
5Summit!Midnight start for Uhuru Peak. Ascend via Gilman's Point. Descend via Marangu Route to Horombo Hut for variety.
6FinishFinal descent through rainforest to Marangu Gate. Receive certificates and transfer to hotel.
