This seven-day safari is built around maximizing wildlife diversity, with a particular focus on finding Tanzania's more elusive species alongside the iconic Big Five. The itinerary covers Tarangire, Lake Manyara, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater, with extended time in each park to search for animals that shorter safaris often miss — serval cats hunting in tall grass, bat-eared foxes emerging at dusk, caracals on rocky outcrops, and the peculiar aardwolf foraging for termites after sunset. Tarangire's dry-country ecosystem supports species you will not encounter elsewhere on the northern circuit.

The fringe-eared oryx, gerenuk, and lesser kudu are all present here, alongside the massive elephant herds that define the park. The Silale Swamps in the southern reaches of Tarangire are particularly productive for birdlife and predator sightings, and with seven days on the circuit, we have the luxury of exploring these less-visited areas. Lake Manyara offers a half-day game drive focused on the groundwater forest and lakeshore habitats. The tree-climbing lions receive most of the attention, but the forest floor hides bushbuck, mongoose colonies, and the occasional African civet emerging in the late afternoon. Three nights in the Serengeti give us time for dawn-to-dusk game driving on days when the wildlife activity warrants it. The Seronera area is famous for leopards — this is one of the best places in Africa to observe these normally secretive cats. Cheetah families with cubs are regularly seen on the short-grass plains, and during migration months, the predator-prey dynamics become truly spectacular. The Ngorongoro Crater closes the safari with its unmatched density. A morning drive on the crater floor consistently delivers encounters with lion prides, spotted hyena clans, buffalo herds, and the small population of black rhinos that call this caldera home. Seven days in the bush sharpens your eye; by this point, you will spot animals that would have gone unnoticed on day one.
