Full Itinerary

Day 0: Arrival in Tanzania

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you’ll be warmly greeted by your experienced safari guide. From there, a scenic 50-minute drive will take you to the vibrant city of Arusha. Settle into your comfortable accommodation at the Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa, or another hotel of your choice, and relax after your journey.

Day 1: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration

After a hearty breakfast, embark on a 3-hour drive to the magnificent Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the “Garden of Eden.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts an incredible diversity of wildlife, including the iconic Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard), as well as zebras, hyenas, hippos, and countless bird species. Savor a delightful picnic lunch amidst this breathtaking landscape. As the day winds down, ascend from the crater and head to your lodge, such as the Rhino Lodge, for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Journey to the Serengeti

Following breakfast, depart from the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and set out on a scenic drive towards the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. This journey, taking approximately 2-3 hours, offers glimpses of Tanzania’s diverse landscapes and the chance to spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival in the Serengeti, check in at your chosen accommodation, such as the Kisura Serengeti Tented Camp or the Matawi Luxury Tented Camp. Embark on your first game drive in this vast wilderness, seeking out the park’s abundant wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, and a multitude of other fascinating creatures.

Day 3: A Full Day in the Serengeti

Dedicate this entire day to immersing yourself in the wonders of the Serengeti. Embark on both morning and afternoon game drives, exploring different sections of the park and maximizing your opportunities to witness the incredible wildlife that calls this place home. Enjoy a delicious lunch at your camp, followed by more thrilling game drives. Return to your accommodation for a farewell dinner and a restful night under the African sky.

Day 4: Serengeti Farewell and Return to Arusha

After a final breakfast and a possible last game drive, check out of your Serengeti accommodation and start the drive back to Arusha. This approximately 5-6 hour journey allows for further wildlife sightings and reflection on your unforgettable safari adventure. Upon arrival in Arusha, check in to the Tulia Retreat Hotel and Spa (or your preferred hotel) and relax, cherishing the memories of your remarkable Tanzanian safari.
