6 Days Tanzania Lodge & Luxury Tented Camp Safari

This six-day lodge and luxury tented camp safari takes you through the heart of Tanzania's northern circuit, a region I have guided guests through for over a decade. Starting from Arusha, you will travel to Tarangire National Park, where ancient baobab trees tower above vast herds of elephants — often numbering in the hundreds during dry season. Tarangire's landscape is unlike anywhere else in East Africa, with termite mounds dotting golden grasslands and tree-climbing pythons hidden in the canopy. From Tarangire, the route continues to Lake Manyara, a compact park famous for its tree-climbing lions and flocks of flamingos that paint the alkaline lakeshore pink. You will enjoy a game drive along the groundwater forest, where blue monkeys swing through mahogany trees and hippos wallow in shaded pools. The journey then ascends to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, where you spend a full day exploring the crater floor — a natural amphitheater spanning 260 square kilometers and home to roughly 25,000 large animals. The crater offers some of the best chances anywhere to spot the endangered black rhinoceros in the wild, alongside lion prides, spotted hyenas, and buffalo herds grazing near freshwater springs. Your final days are spent in the Serengeti, where endless plains stretch to the horizon and big cat sightings are almost guaranteed. Depending on the season, you may witness the great wildebeest migration crossing the grasslands or the Mara River. Accommodation throughout alternates between established lodges with panoramic views and luxury tented camps that bring you closer to the bush while maintaining comfort — hot showers, proper beds, and meals prepared by skilled camp chefs. All game drives are conducted in a custom 4x4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof, giving every seat an unobstructed view.
