Itinerary

Upon arrival, you will be picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport and transferred to Arusha Planet lodge in Arusha, a journey of approximately 50 minutes. This lodge features comfortable beds, a beautiful garden, a swimming pool, and excellent meals. Our mountain guides will meet you at the lodge for a pre-trek briefing, during which they will check your gear and discuss other logistics for your upcoming adventure.

In the morning, our team will pick you up at the lodge and transfer you to Machame Park Gate, which takes about 2 hours. Upon arrival and after registration, you will begin your slow ascent through the dense rainforest to Machame Hut Campsite. Along the way, keep an eye out for black-and-white Colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, and a variety of beautiful birds. The stunning scenery, characterized by lush greenery and towering trees, makes this route truly unique. The trek will take approximately 5-6 hours.

The morning starts with breakfast and a packed picnic lunch before continuing the hike to the Shira Cave campsite. The day is clear, and we will be walking through the heather and moorland zone. Today’s trail is a bit steep, offering fantastic views of both Shira Peak and Mount Kibo. You’ll also get a great view of Mount Meru in Arusha. The hike takes approximately 4-5 hours. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be at the Shira Cave campsite, located at an altitude of 3,750 meters, on a full board basis.

The morning begins with breakfast and a packed picnic lunch before continuing the hike along the east side facing the mountain. The day is cool as we pass through the alpine desert. We’ll enjoy our picnic lunch at Lava Tower, at an altitude of 4,600 meters. After lunch, we will descend to Barranco Camp. The walk takes approximately 6 hours. Overnight accommodations will be at Barranco Campsite, located at 3,900 meters, on a full board basis.

The morning begins with breakfast and a packed picnic lunch before starting the hike to Barafu Camp. Shortly after we start, we will tackle the Barranco Wall, which is affectionately nicknamed “Breakfast” by the porters. This name signifies the importance of warming up, as the wall features several climbing sections. After conquering the wall, we will continue our trek to Karanga Camp, where we will enjoy a picnic lunch. Following lunch, we will ascend to Barafu Camp. The total duration for the hike from Barranco to Barafu Camp is approximately 6 hours. Overnight accommodations will be at Barafu Camp, located at an altitude of 4,673 meters, on a full board basis.

At midnight, after enjoying refreshing tea and cookies, we will start the hike to the summit. It will be a tough day as we strive to make our dream come true. The ascent to Uhuru Peak, at an altitude of 5,895 meters, takes approximately 6-7 hours. Upon reaching the summit, we will take photos for about 20 minutes to capture this unforgettable moment.

Afterward, we will descend to Mweka Camp via Barafu Camp. The walk down to Barafu Camp takes about 3 hours. We will relax for approximately 1 hour and enjoy breakfast before continuing the descent to Mweka Camp, which takes another 3-4 hours. Overnight accommodations will be at Mweka Campsite, located at an altitude of 3,100 meters, on a full board basis.

The morning after breakfast descends to Mweka Park gate under a beautiful rainforest for about 3-4 hours. After checking out the Park, meet Van and transfer to Arusha City for 2 hours. Overnight at Arusha Planet Lodge. Please note. day 8, our driver will pick you up at the lodge and transfer you to the Airport for your home flight or other destination.

Kilimanjaro international Airport is the Kilimanjaro and safari gateway. You will be taken from there to Arusha City one or Moshi town one hour for overnight. The following day drive to Kilimanjaro mountain park gates.
